Generator Series’ ‘Resilience,’ Music and Poetry at Kaneko

OMAHA, NE—For two years now, The Generator Series, a collaboration between the Kaneko and Omaha Under the Radar has organized concerts featuring local and outside talent to create innovative music experiences. Their next concert this Saturday, Resilience, will continue to expand the series’ scope, presenting an evening of themed music, poetry, and opera.
Eko Nova Season Opens with ‘Quartet’

Omaha, NE—Eko Nova, Omaha Chamber Music Society’s series for new music, often features innovative, though not always well known contemporary music and sometimes some unusual instrumentation.
Their next performance on September 24th, Quartet, will feature one of the most popular classical arrangements—the string quartet, of course—but the evening still highlights a unique framing of classical music, featuring Shostakovich, Beethoven, and later 20th century Soviet-German composer Alfred Schnittke, whose work draw directly from the former composers.

The Museum of Alternative History, part of the Reality exhibition, is going on now at the Kaneko. Curated by Tim Guthrie, the Museum blends truth with fiction, blurring perception, and challenging belief. This is actually not the first Museum of Alternative history, but only its latest and grandest incarnation. Guthrie opened the first one years ago at the RNG Gallery in Council Bluffs very soon after conceiving one simple concept.

It’s the union of dance and experimental sound design from choreographer, Claire Cuny, and composer and sound designer, Monte Weber.
