Vesper Concert Series Returns, ‘At Home in Nebraska’

Omaha, NE—This weekend, the Vesper Concert Series enters its 31st season with At Home in Nebraska, a concert featuring selections from contemporary and classic operas. Not only have many of Sunday’s musicians found home in Nebraska from elsewhere, but the afternoon’s contemporary selections also debuted here.
Summer Concert Series Closes with ‘Piano Duos’

Omaha, NE—This weekend, Omaha Chamber Music Society will close their Sumer Concert Series with Piano Duos at the Omaha conservatory of music. Two pianists on stage might not be the most common arrangement in classical music, but enough composers have experimented with the idea, Mozart and Schubert to name some. Omaha Chamber Music has a history as well with a piano duet last year.
Tower Duo Returns for Eko Nova Series

Omaha, NE—Tower Duo, contemporary chamber ensemble and married couple, will perform at the Kaneko as part of Omaha Chamber Music Society’s Eko Nova series. Both Lecturers at various Ohio colleges, it’s not Michael and Erin Helgeson Torres first time in Omaha. This is their second time performing for Eko Nova, one of several major performance series that establish Omaha as a locale for contemporary and experimental music.
Vesper Concert Series presents Trio Fortutio: The Human Factor

The Vesper concert series welcomes an unlikely ensemble to the stage of the Presbyterian Church of the Cross this weekend, Trio Fortutio. Representing the US and Brazil, the group comprises American UNO Professor and Flutist, Christine Beard, and Brazilians, Pianist Catarina Domenici and Cellist Rodrigo Alquati.

The ensemble will begin with the first of Bach’s eminent Brandenburg Concerti from 1721 and will welcome the beginning of the next century with Beethoven’s Septet in E-Flat Major.
