Omaha, NE—The UNO School of Music initiates a new tradition this week with the second installment of Powerful Perspectives. The performance will feature under-represented composers and a variety of musical styling. Started by UNO Graduate, Jordan Willis, and Associate Professor of Violin and String Education, Mary Perkinson, Powerful Perspectives introduces audiences to new musical ideas.

Featuring Dr. Mary Perkinson and Jordan Willis

Friday at noon, UNO will feature a talk by guest artist, Dr. Gregory TS Walker, who has also composed a piece for the evening performance.

In addition to Walker’s piece, the ensemble will perform works by William Grant Still, Florence Price, and Katy Perry. Mixing classical, jazz, and pop music, the performers are up for a challenge.

Dr. Gregory TS Walker will talk at UNO this Friday, October 15 at 12:00pm, and Powerful Perspectives will open and stream at 7:00pm. For more information, find the UNO school of music at UNOmaha.edu.
