Omaha Community Playhouse Celebrates Halloween
October 5th, 2021
Omaha Community Playhouse opens a new performance this week apropos of Halloween. The Mystery of Irma Vep was once one of the most performed plays in the United States, giving audiences absurdist comedy, vampires, werewolves, literary and cinematic references, and cross-dressing from playwright, Charles Ludlam. Guest Director, Jim McKain.
To give the performance that added spookiness, McKain and partners worked extensively on set design and an original score for the production.
Irma Vep feature just two actors playing multiple roles, so their bond was crucial to the shows comedic delivery.
The Mystery of Irma Vep opens this Friday October 8th at the Omaha Community Playhouse. For more information or tickets, go to OmahaPlayhouse.org.
