September 24th, 2021
OMAHA – Girls Inc helps women develop their skills and promotes complex physical, mental, and professional development among them.
Recently, a group of women on behalf of the girls inc network and some Girls Inc Executive directors, from the United States and parts of Canada put together a program called Project Accelerate.
Project Accelerate, promotes systematic and institutional change in workplaces. With this recent proposal, Girls Inc also received $10M in funding to be distributed among all these institutions.
The annual Lunch for the Girls event is to be held in November at the CHI Health Center Omaha. Girls Inc Executive Director Roberta Wilhelm says guest speakers generate great role modeling for the girls. This year guest speaker will be Mae Jemison, American physician and the first African American woman to become an astronaut.
Lunch for the Girls will have limited seating due to pandemics but will be streamed. In the past Lunch for the girls has gathered up to three thousand people.
