Omaha, NE—Project Project gallery, usually alight with activity on Vinton second Fridays, has only been able to feature limited programming over the last few months due to COVID 19. They are now opening their doors again this Friday, albeit taking some necessary safety precautions. Project Project will open Two Trick Pony, featuring paintings by Nick Clark. Clark has studied many traditions, but he’s currently exploring post-digital pop art.
El Museo Latino Reopens

Omaha, NE—El Museo Latino, Omaha’s Latino Art and History Museum and Cultural Center, has reopened to the public. Like many organizations, the museum had to close due to the COVID pandemic.
The decision to close must have been difficult due to the importance of the exhibitions on display, but luckily, works by Picasso and Marcel Mouly are still there to see.

Omaha, NE—The Joslyn Art Museum opens its doors again today. The museum had greatly expanded its online presence since closing due to COVID-19, but reopening to the public is an important moment for the arts community.

The 7th New American Arts Festival, a collaboration between BFF Omaha and Lutheran Family Services is this Friday, August 7. The Festival celebrating the arts of immigrant and refugee communities will partially move online with some displays still open in Benson that evening.
Tyondai Braxton Performs Bemis Center’s [email protected] END

Omaha, NE—Electronic composer Tyondai Braxton will perform the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts’ next [email protected] END concert to be streamed online this week. Braxton has experimented with electronics from an early age, patching effects pedals and amplifiers. He eventually went to school for music composition, and in his professional career, Braxton has found himself at home with professional orchestras and in front of synthesizers. His work has been performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, the LA Philharmonic, and he’s performed alongside Philip Glass.
