Omaha, NE—Maple Street Construct Gallery usually opens its doors for those walking Benson on first Fridays, but social distancing has resulted in a change of plans. Maple Street’s focus on connections outside of Omaha have offered an opportunity for digital exhibitions.

Local Organizations Offer Meals During Coronavirus

Omaha, NE—Amid the coronavirus outbreak, there are still organizations offering help. Many families in Omaha depend on schools and other resources for more than just classes—most importantly meals.
While schools are closed, The NorthStar Foundation, The Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties, and Millard Public Schools will be distributing meals this week from three drive up sites. Scott Hazelrigg, President of the North Star Foundation.

Omaha, NE—Maple Street Construct Gallery in Benson has two main goals: highlighting architectural art and design, and forming a creative bridge between Omaha and Los Angeles. Tonight they will open Vernacular, an exhibition featuring the urban photography of Dan Schwalm from Omaha and Taiyo Watanabe, based in LA. Artist and curator of Vernacular, Mike Nesbit, was the first LA artist to work with Maple Street and Nebraska’s chapter of the American Institute of Architects back in 2017.
