Joslyn Opens Opens Fact and ‘Fiction in Contemporary Photography’
February 3rd, 2020
Omaha, NE—The Joslyn Art Museum will open a new exhibition next week, February 8, Fact and Fiction in Contemporary Photography. As photography becomes increasingly handheld in the form of cell phones and apps, Chief Curator and Holland Curator of Western Art Toby Juravics opens a dialogue on its place in today’s gallery setting.
Image editing has been around for a long time, but it has only recently become ubiquitous for viewers. Fact and Fiction explores many of the techniques used.
The worlds of fine art, media, and the average consumer have all been talking about the power of photography this century, and Juravics believes there is still more progress to come in the near future.
The Joslyn Art museum will open Fact and Fiction in Contemporary Photography next week, Saturday, February 8 and it will be on display until May 20. For more information about the exhibition and related events, visit Joslyn.org.
