Omaha, NE—American Midwest Ballet returns this season next Friday October 11, beginning with the fan favorite show, Momentum. Performed every year, Momentum is not a single ballet, but a mixed repertory production and an opportunity for audiences to experience various types of music and styles. This year’s performance is especially festive, marking the company’s 10th year. Momentum will feature Artistic Director Erika Overturff’s original choreography, “Party Animals”, some music from Cuba, and a company favorite, “In the Style of Bob Fosse”, which is being performed for the second time.

Following the glamour of Fosse and American jazz, Momentum moves to Latin Rhythm, with “Habaneras, The Music of Cuba.”

Overturff’s “Party Animals” keeps the evening festive, inspired by animal themed music and some creative interpretation from company dancers.

American Midwest Ballet’s Momentum is this weekend, Friday October 11th at the Joslyn Art Museum at 7:30pm and Sunday the 13th at the Iowa Western Arts Center at 2:00pm. For more information or tickets, visit AMBallet.org
