Omaha, NE—He’s written over a dozen books on every part of contemporary society, including media, economics, and social systems, and now Douglas Rushkoff is coming to Omaha to engage with some of the city’s most creative minds.
Rushkoff’s work creatively examines and assesses the complicated networks that shape our society. His latest book, Team Human, makes the case for maintaining humanity in an age when technology and artificial intelligence have become ubiquitous.
Team Human has also become a podcast series and traveling live show.
Wednesday’s discussion at Archetype Coffee in Little Bohemia will include Brigitte McQueen Shew, local community advocate and founder of the Union for Contemporary Art, and Steven Bartolomei, musician, audio producer, and professor of media.
While Rushkoff addresses many societal concerns regarding media and technology, his work and this week’s talk consider ways in which anybody can be part of Team Human.
Team Human Live in Omaha, featuring Douglas Rushkoff, Brigitte McQueen Shew, and Stephen Bartolomei is this Wednesday, August 14 at Archetype coffee on South 13th Street. Doors open at 7:00pm with the show starting at 7:30. Rushkoff will also speak at Metro Community College on August 15 as the Maha Festival Keynote Speaker.
