Omaha, NE—The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts’ next exhibition opening tonight, Inner Ear Vision: Sound as Medium, marks the beginning of the organization’s exploration of sound art. Their first sound artist in residence, part of their new residency program, is currently working at the space while the new basement venue is under construction.

Featuring Co-Curator Maria Buszek and Artists Suzanne Kite and Devin Ronneberg

Going beyond music as accompaniment, Inner Ear Vision features 18 multidisciplinary artists working at the intersection of sound and visual art—which isn’t too common in the gallery space.

Inner Ear Vision comprises variations of musical instruments, graphic scores, music performances, and immersive installations.

Overall, the exhibition combines numerous talents, disciplines, and cultures to create an innovative aural experience.

Inner Ear Vision: Sound as Medium opens tonight at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts at 6:00pm with a performance at 7:00pm. For more information, visit BemisCenter.org.
