Omaha, NE—Happening now on UNO’s campus, the Webber Fine Arts Gallery and Osbourne Family Gallery have opened Sensory: Please Touch the Art 3.0, an exhibit where attendees are encouraged to engage with touch. The annual exhibition began in 2016, the idea of Assistant Professor of Art Education, Jeremy Johnson.
Sensory 3.0 features over 80 pieces from artists in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado and Washington. Each has at least some component that extends beyond the visual—textural or audible features for example.
Sensory 3.0 is a rare experience in the often guarded world of fine art, but perhaps that culture will change with rise of new ideas and media.
Sensory: Please Touch the Art 3.0 is on display now at UNO’s Webber Fine Arts Gallery and Osbourne Family Gallery until June 21. For more information, visit UNOmaha.edu.
