Omaha, NE—With the new season comes Nebraska Wind Symphony’s next concert at Elkhorn South High School this Sunday. For the 80-member volunteer ensemble, this weekend is all about women in music—performers composers, and community leaders.

The organization eagerly accepted the idea to celebrate women in concert when the idea was suggested, and luckily, there was no trouble finding material for a set list.

The Symphony has invited several female guest conductors and prominent members of Omaha’s music community, like Dr. Karen Fannin of UNO and Band Directors from Elkhorn South, Gretna, and Millard South High Schools.

In addition to honoring female composers and local leaders, this concert has another important group in mind—Nebraska’s women veterans.

The Nebraska Wind Symphony’s ‘Ladies Day Spring Concert’ at Elkhorn South High School is this Sunday, April 14t, at 3:00pm. For more information or tickets, visit NebraskaWindSymphony.com.
