Opera Omaha opens Pagliacci this week, with music and libretto by Italian composer, Ruggero Leoncavalo.
Featuring an interview with performers, Jonathan Burton and Leah PartridgeÂ
It wouldn’t be an Italian opera without romance gone wrong—in this case for Canio, wife and fellow actor, Nedda, and Silvio. For Canio, life on and off the stage are starting to become a little too similar.
In addition to failures in his marriage, Canio suffers from a life reexamined. It’s the sort of dissonance that comes only from time, like a worn out record.
Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, performed by Opera Omaha, is next week, Friday October 19th at 7:30pm and Sunday the 21st at 2:00pm at the Orpheum Theatre. For more information or tickets, visit OperaOmaha.org.
