Omaha, NE—Darger HQ gallery will opened their next exhibition on July 13, Transcriptions. As always, the gallery has paired two artists—one local and one visiting—Sheila Talbitzer from Omaha and Cindy Rehm from LA.
Though these two artists have only met just this week, their works shares similar motifs in that both artists create emotional works while responding to texts. Talbitzer was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and her recent work draws on her own medical records and MRI images.
Rehm begins with the written word. Literary criticism, feminist writers, and memoirs all inform her work, and are visually represented.
Rehm and Talbitzer are hard at work now harmonizing their pieces in the gallery space, and despite their different backgrounds, there seems to be an aesthetic sympathy.
Transcriptions, featuring Sheila Talbitzer and Cindy Rehm opened tonight, July 13Â at Darger HQ. The exhibition will be on display until September 1. For more information, visit Darger HQ.org.
