“Brandenburg and Beethoven” Kicks off OCMS Summer Series

Omaha, NE—Omaha Chamber Music Society’s Summer Concert Series begins this Sunday, June 10th with Brandenburg and Beethoven. The ensemble will begin with the first of Bach’s eminent Brandenburg Concerti from 1721 and will welcome the beginning of the next century with Beethoven’s Septet in E-Flat Major.

The ensemble won’t necessarily be playing baroque or classically designed instruments, which are a good bit different from today’s, but each musician must be keen when it comes to getting the right tone from the instrument.

Symphony performances and chamber concerts are both treats for any audiences with a love for classical music, but sometimes chamber offers a slightly different perspective. Smaller ensembles in more intimate settings give attendees to see the dynamics between performers and how music emerges from the page.

Omaha Chamber Music Society’s Brandenburg and Beethoven at the Omaha Conservatory of music is this Sunday at 3:00pm with a pre-concert talk at 2:40. For more information or tickets for all of this summer’s chamber concerts, visit OmahaChamberMusic.org.
