Renowned Acting Coach, Tom Todoroff Comes to UNO

Omaha, NE—Tom Todoroff is a New York actor, producer, and director, but he’s probably best known now as a voice, speech and acting coach for some of the biggest names in the business—actors like Liam Neeson, Richard Gere, and Robert Wagner. And he’s good friends with local director Alexander Payne. He’ll be on UNO’s campus this Saturday and Sunday for a two-day personalized course for actors.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Todoroff’s acting career began much like any other.

After taking the stage in high school, Todoroff was to attend Juilliard’s acting program, but not before an unexpected condition that might have sparked his multi-faceted career.

Following his studies, Todoroff became an expert in speech and regional accents, and in addition to acting, he was called to coach other Hollywood actors working on films around the world.

Todoroff now runs a studio in Manhattan, and he teaches his students storytelling through acting with a front and back stage perspective.

The class is designed to help with acting technique and the mindset it takes to be successful, but Todoroff emphasizes that the class isn’t just for actors.

In response to those actors who are already well aware of the difficulties of the acting business, Todoroff maintains confidence in the current film and tv industry.

Tom Todoroff’s two day acting class is this Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25 from 10am to 4-5pm at UNO’s Weber Fine Arts Building. Guests may reserve a spot as a performer or observer, and there’s a discount for new students and all UNO students and faculty.
