Omaha mayor’s race getting crowded

Omaha, NE – Omaha City Councilmember Jean Stothert jumped into the 2013 race for the Omaha mayor’s office on Thursday. The councilwoman, and oft staunch opponent of Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle, joins two fellow Republicans who have already announced their candidacy. Former councilman Dan Welch announced Wednesday, and Omaha businessman Dave Nabity threw his hat in the ring last week.

Stothert addressed supporters Thursday morning, and then spoke with Nebraska Watchdog‘s Joe Jordan:

Mayor Suttle, a Democrat, will also face State Senator Brad Ashford, who is running as an independent.


Suttle will seek a second term
