“The Haves and Have Nots” coming to Omaha
November 17th, 2011
Omaha, NE – Tyler Perry’s new stage play The Haves and the Have Nots is coming to Omaha’s Orpheum Theater this week.
Tyler Perry grew up in a poor family in New Orleans. In 1992, he took the little money he had and hit the road with his musical stage play I Know I’ve Been Changed. He is now a well-known director, screenwriter, producer, songwriter, entrepreneur and actor – most commonly known for performing the character, Madea. This year, Forbes Magazine named Perry the highest paid man in entertainment.
Perry’s latest stage play The Haves and the Have Nots tells the story of a wealthy family, which has all its needs met and most of what it wants. The family then has the opportunity to see the other side, when forced to become involved with their poverty-stricken housekeeper.
The play stars Palmer Williams Jr. from Perry’s House of Payne television sitcom, along with other actors, singers and comedians. The Haves and the Have Nots will be performed Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 pm at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Omaha.
