Omaha, NE – Jazz vocalist and Tony award-winning Broadway star Dee Dee Bridgewater comes to Omaha later this month. Dee Dee Bridgewater’s official biography names her a “sparkling ambassador for jazz” who “bathed” in jazz music “before she could walk.” Bridgewater’s father was a trumpeter who taught jazz legends like Booker Little, Charles Lloyd and George Coleman, exposing his daughter to jazz traditions early on.

Bridgewater is an eclectic performer. She has appeared in several stage productions, including the Broadway musical The Wiz, where she won a Tony for her performance as the Good Witch. She is also the host of National Public Radio’s syndicated weekly show, Jazz Set with Dee Dee Bridgewater.

Bridgewater takes the stage in Omaha at the Holland Performing Arts Center Friday, Nov. 19.
