Omaha, NE – College students are invited to hear some live music and browse two gallery exhibits at the Joslyn Oct. 21.

Local band Voodoo Method will take the stage at the Joslyn Oct. 21 to entice college students to the museum. Voodoo Method is the winner of the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards Summer Showcase this year, and is self-described as an eclectic mix of blues, funk, punk rock and reggae.

Two exhibits will provide the backdrop for Voodoo Method’s performance. Golden Kite, Golden Dreams is the first-ever retrospective presenting children’s book illustrations who are winners of the prestigious Golden Kite awards. The work of 47 artists from all over the world is on display, ranging from pencil and ink drawings to watercolor and acrylic paintings. That exhibit continues through January, as does the ongoing Kent Bellows retrospective, featuring the largest ever exhibit of the late Omaha artist.
