The music of Elton John and even rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Who will be brought to the stage this weekend, backed by the live orchestra of the Omaha Symphony.

Michael Cavanaugh is best known for his performance as the “Piano Man” in the Broadway play, Movin’ Out, for which he was hand-picked for the part by Billy Joel and nominated for both Tony and Grammy awards. A cover artist, Cavanaugh will bring his own energetic piano-driven style of rock to classic songs from Journey, the Eagles, and particularly, piano rocker Elton John.

It’s the second year Michael Cavanaugh has appeared with the Omaha Symphony. It’s part of the Symphony Pops series. Cavanaugh will perform at the Holland Performing Arts Center Oct. 8-10.
