Ben Bohall graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Brandon McDermott graduated from Omaha Benson High School in May 2004. Brandon began his broadcasting career interning at NRG Media, and then turned to the corporate world for a few years, working as a manager at Telvent DTN. He returned to his first love: radio in June, 2011.

Our goal is to accurately inform our community to increase understanding. KVNO News’ Partners

KVNO is a service of the University of Nebraska Omaha, and our newsroom serves as a student lab for aspiring journalists in UNO’s School of Communication, providing a real-life newsroom environment for students to hone their skills, and a medium to broadcast student-produced material. Students who work with KVNO News are expected to adhere to our professional standards of excellence and integrity.

KVNO News also collaborates with local media outlets, including NET News in Lincoln, Nebraska’s NPR Station; The Reader, Omaha’s largest alternative weekly; and Nebraska Watchdog, an independent online media source covering politics and government. It is our mission to create open, free-sharing partnerships, which enhance journalistic resources in order to expand and improve local coverage of issues affecting our community.
