6th New American Arts Festival in Benson Friday

Omaha, NE—This week’s Benson First Friday, or BFF, celebrates a group that is deeply active in all facets of Omaha’s arts and culture. The New American Arts Festival highlights the arts, artisanal crafts, music, and cuisine of the area’s immigrant and refugee community, and the festival continues to grow, entering its 6th year. Organized by Lutheran Family Services and BFF, The New American Arts Festival welcomes arts and patrons to the streets of Benson and also numerous art galleries and storefronts participating in the event. Latin America, The Middle East, Africa, and Asia are represented in the form of painting and sculpture, music and dance, decoration, and five featured food vendors. Nine performance groups will take the stage throughout the event.

Not just a celebration, The New American Arts Festival has directly helped Omaha’s immigrant and artistic communities.

Participating artists and artisans benefit from sales and donations for the New American Arts festival also go towards supporting all contributors to the entertainment, including performers and workshop instructors.
