Eko Nova Presents ‘The Forces Inside’

April 20th, 2019

Omaha, NE—Clarinetist John Klinghammer returns to Omaha for Eko Nova’s concert at Kaneko on Monday, The Forces Inside. He’s no stranger to the series, since he is its co-founder and first Artistic Director. Klinghammer has since accepted a chair in the Kansas City Symphony, but Eko Nova and its dedication to innovative chamber music survive.

Featuring Kansas City Symphony Clarinetist John Klinghammer

The Forces Inside comprises music of the 20th and 21st centuries, with each piece challenging the musical conventions and techniques of its respective era. The five-member ensemble, on violin, cello, clarinet, harp, and percussion, will perform work by Erwin Schulhoff as well as contemporary composers Gilad Cohen and Kevin Puts.

While these composers and their music work together thematically, what’s most important to Klinghammer and this concert overall is the listening experience.

The Forces Inside, part of the Eko Nova concert series at Kaneko is this Monday, April 22n at 7:00pm. For more information or tickets, visit omahachambermusic.org.
