‘Bright Half Life’ Opens at OutrSpaces

Omaha, NE—In its short lifetime to date, OUTRSpaces has become a welcoming home for Omaha’s music performances, discussions, and theater. Though not equipped with a traditional stage, theater producers have been attracted to the intimate venue. Recent graduate of UNO’s theater department, Be Louis, now actor, director and producer, sees the space as ideal for a debut production. Bright Half Life, written by Tanya Barfield will open this Friday.

this Sunday, From Russia With Love. Pianist Yulia Kalashnikova and violinist Olga Smola were eager to work together and share their connected personal narratives on the stage. Both from Russia, conservatory trained, and now active members of Omaha’s music community, the duo has devised a concert featuring a selection of fellow Russian emigrants who have shaped musical canon.

‘Bridges of Madison County Opens at Playhouse

Omaha, NE—Bridges of Madison County, popular novella, film, and now musical, will be performed on stage at the Omaha Community Playhouse, opening March 1. Set in 1960s Iowa, it’s the story of an affair between a photographer and an Italian American woman. Unlike most productions, this one will feature two casts, alternating performances.
