Todd Robinson Opens Season’s Reading Series

Omaha, NE—UNO Creative Writing Professor and poet Todd Robinson will be reading for the public tomorrow evening. It’s the Writer’s Workshop reading series, which for over 40 years has been inviting leading voices in poetry to present in Omaha and that includes UNO faculty.

Despite having already established himself as a poet an educator of the craft, Robinson still reads poetry with youthful eyes.

On Wednesday, Robinson will be reading from his latest book, Mass for Shut-Ins, published just this year.

The collection is concerned with the familial and the personal, but not without a confessional element that complicates what can unfortunately be passed off as day-to-day.

Robinson will also read from some previous collections and some new unpublished poetry. Readings for some writers sometimes seems like a literary parade, but it’s really an opportunity for writers and audiences to engage with work that is still finding form.

UNO’s Writers’ Workshop Reading Series, featuring Todd Robinson, is tomorrow evening, Wednesday, September 18th at 7:30pm in UNO’s Weber Fine Art’s Building. The event is free and open to the public, and will include a Q&A. For more information about tomorrow’s reading or this semester’s reading series lineup, search UNO Writer’s Workshop online.
