Omaha, NE – Scott Berry is the head baseball coach at the University of Southern Mississippi and has been at the helm since 2010. He’s been at USM since 2003. The Golden Eagles just clinched the Conference USA crown this past weekend with a win over University of Alabama-Birmingham. They’ve experienced a load of success this year, including one stretch where they won 17 out of 19 games.

There is talk of this being the best Southern Miss has fielded, which is saying a lot as USM has had decent success in years past. Infielder Dylan Burdeaux leads the nation in hits (86) and leads USM in RBI, doubles and stolen bases – he is certainly in contention for C-USA Player of the Year conversation. USM is making a pretty good case to host a regional. If they do it’ll the second in school history (2003). Coach Berry talks about how special it would it be to host in Hattiesburg.
